Privacy Policy

Effective: April 1, 2013

The LAM Health Project (the “LHP”) regards the privacy and security of personal information as a matter of great importance. For this reason, the LHP only collects the information most necessary to keep our community informed as to the LHP’s activities (name, address, email, phone number). We want to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us. If you prefer not to receive information from us, please let us know by phone, email or in writing. Please be sure to include your full name, e-mail and/or street address.

If you wish to stop receiving information from the LHP, simply inform us via phone, email, or postal mail and we will remove you from our mailing list. If you inform us of your opinions and individual preferences, we will also collect those but will not redistribute them to third parties without your permission unless you choose to post these on our site. The LHP will never sell, rent, license, or exchange your contact information with a third party without your permission. Please let us know if you do not want your name to appear on an online list of supporters.

If you elect to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we will ask for the friend’s name and e-mail address. We will automatically send the friend a one-time e-mail inviting him/her to visit the site. We will store the information on your friend(s) for the sole purpose of sending this one-time e-mail, unless the friend accepts to hear from us.

The LHP’s website may contain links to websites operated by third parties. These websites may collect your personal information. This Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties and the LHP does not assume any responsibility for, and by using this website and/or accessing a third party’s website from this website, you release the LHP of any responsibility for, the actions, practices and omissions of third parties. Please check the privacy policy at each site you visit.

The LHP’s web site automatically collects and temporarily stores the following information about your visit:

  • the domain name from which you access the Internet (such as “aol.com”);
  • the date and time you access our site;
  • the pages you visited; and
  • the address of the web site from which you came to our site.

This information is not associated with individual users. It is used to measure the number of visitors to the various sections of the site and to help make the site more useful. Unless it is specifically stated otherwise, no additional information will be collected about you. Most browsers are designed to accept cookies, but they can be easily modified to block cookies; see your browser’s help files for details on how to block cookies, how to know when you have received cookies and how to disable cookies completely. You should note, however, that without cookies, some of the website’s functions will not be available, and the user will lose some of the benefits of the site.

When inquiries are e-mailed to the LHP, the question and the e-mail address information are stored so that the LHP can respond electronically. Unless otherwise required by statute, or disclosed by choice, the LHP does not identify publicly who sends questions or comments to the web site. In any portion of the site dedicated to messaging or online discussion, user names will be posted based on use. The LHP reserves the right to remove postings with inappropriate content. To assure the integrity of information on this server, the LHP reserves the right to monitor system access if malicious actions are taken to disable on-line services or to intentionally gain unauthorized access to internal systems.

You are entitled to request access to and correction of your personal information collected by us and to withdraw your personal information. In order to make such a request, or if you have any questions or to make any complaint in relation to this Policy and the LHP’s privacy practices, please contact us by e-mail at info@LAMHealthProject.org. If you have consented to the collection and use of personal information as identified herein, please note that you can also withdraw your consent at any time by communicating with our privacy officer as provided below.
